Default Turning a B16a2 into LS/Vtec

So we have the engine. Its the JDM b16a2 with cam gears, thin head gasket, and type r ecu, exhaust, intake. It is in a 96 civic 2 door coupe. Right now his times are running high 15's at best, usually low 16's. And its not driver error, very good drivers get same results. Thats not ok... So we're planning on a dramatic upgrade. The original thought was that since we have the b16 head, why not just grab an LS block, and we got LS/Vtec...

Thats a pain in the ass apparently, we would have to have a lot of work done on the block to make it durable enough to rev past 7k rpm.

So the new thought is, get a b18c1 block because its made for high revving. Immediately, we have more displacement. Then, to get the longer stroke that the LS has, grab an LS crank and rods. Will this block with those internals bolt up to the b16 head? I'm assuming it should since the B18b1 block would bolt up with this head.

Whats your thoughts? How much $$$ am I lookin at?
