I've had my 95 Civic DX coupe for a little over a year now and have fallen in love with it. Unfortunately it is starting to burn oil at a decent rate. I have decided that instead of rebuilding or looking for a different car, I want to swap the motor. And as long as I am doing that, I want more horsepower. I don't have a huge budget for this, but it needs to happen. The cheapest motor I can find with a decent horsepower increase would be the 89-91 B16a, but I've read in a few places that this swap is not recommended, although no explanation as to why was mentioned. So I'm a bit confused about that. If this is indeed a bad idea, what would be my best option for a new motor with a budget around 2 grand?
