Doesn't the new Accord (EX) have actice noise cancellation otherwise abbreviated as ANC? This is an intricate system that uses various microphones throughout the cabin that tells the computer to send a sound wave using the speakers with the opposite trough and crest so as to cancel out certain pitches throughout the cabin (low pitches I think i.e. road noise), it basically just tricks the ear into not hearing some unnecessary noise. I personally have not test driven the new Accord but from the expert reviews that I've read, they claim road noise is subdued a bit more than in the 7th generation model. While the road noise can be fixed with better tires or added sound insulation, the one thing I will accuse Honda for not treating is the isolation of the engine, such as engine vibration at idle and/or cruising. Honda needs to wake up and realize that not everybody who buys a Honda wants to feel particularly that connected to the road, I mean sharp steering and handling are key, but I think most of us can do without the road noise or vibrations. I mean isn't Honda known for being almost like a poor man's BMW, so why can't Honda get the noise/vibration issue under control?
