A boost controller and catless uppipe will solve any spool-up problems. I can get 18 psi at about 2400 RPMs. Also, at a certain point, AWD is useless...in rain, I can't get traction once I'm in boost. 
Yeah but those will throw you into a harder class. Not something he's willing to do yet.
