I actually did it during summer last year. I did have a little grind in third when shifting at high rpms. I gave syncromesh a try and now it's butter. I hear the new Honda MTF works just as good. I think it has to do with necessary friction where the syncro and gear mate. And that's why Honda only sells them as a set(gear, syncro, sleave).
