Honestly, it doesn't really matter which struts you use. The struts are completely independent of the springs and it's the springs that control your ride height.
 thats what you think, the spring mounts to the strut, making them pretty much one piece. They are far from independent. The spring is what makes the ride height different, but the struts DO matter. I have the KYB GR2's, I ran a 2.5" drop for about 4 months (roughly 8kmi) without any problems, now I have a 1.5" drop will still no problems. The GR2 is a very overlooked strut, just because its not adjustable dosent mean it cant be used for a drop. If you want to save some $$ and adjustability is not an issue, they are perfect! I have no complaints. I also put a set of these on my mothers 3.0 CL because it needed new struts, its on the stock springs and there was a pretty big difference in the ride quality. Its a little stiffer now with the GR2's, being the 3.0 is a little heavy, it used to ride more like a larger car, kinda bouncy, but its all gone now, rides much more like a 4 cyl car.
Go with the GR2's!! BTW, the 2.2 CL and accord coupe are really different.
