OIL!!!! oil, oil, oil!!!!!! Change your oil every 3,000 miles, clean the K&N when recomended, and most importantly, check oil level every time you fill up. Make sure you are full all the time. Also, do change the coolant when recomended, but the oil is by far the most important thing. I know people who do nothing but change the oil religously and have 150k or more with no problems.
