Everyone should rent this movie: "Network," starring Peter Finch (the guy in the YouTube clip, as anchorman Howard Beale), William Holden and Faye Dunaway, from a play by Paddy Chayefsky. It came out in 1976, and is so prophetic of what's happening today on TV that it's scary.

The best part of it, for those of you who are under 40, is the beginning: Four TV monitors, showing Howard Beale competing with Howard K. Smith on ABC, John Chancellor on NBC and Walter Cronkite on CBS...the days of three networks, no cable and no satellite...the days when a TV news anchorman (Cronkite) was repeatedly named as the most trusted man in America.

Trivia: While on a promotional tour for the film, Peter Finch visited the Tonight Show and chatted with Johnny Carson. After the show he went back to his hotel...and dropped dead of a massive heart attack.
