I had little to give thanks to 4 months of unemployment. In fact, I'm even deep in the hole big time from saving my cat's life on Christmas Eve Eve. Poor guy almost died painfully from his kidneys shutting down, but the vet stopped it before it got that far. He's back at home now and recovering nicely, and that means a lot to me.
What I gave: I gave my truck to my cat. I will be putting it in hock at my bank to cover the $1200 vet bill tomorrow morning. I pulled off a Christmas Eve dinner, and some dollar-store gifts on short notice for 2 friends with no family so that they wouldn't be alone on Christmas. I managed to buy 3 small gifts to get me through the Christmas parties at work and with family. I can't wait until I get a full paycheck at the new job.
What I got: First I have to say, there are some very thoughtful people on HAN. Someone in this forum sent gifts for me and my cat, and having a gift for Caboose when he came back from the vet Christmas Eve meant the world to me.
My GF got me nothing and I don't care. My bro got me a water filter, and I needed one. My mom got me some shirts and ties. My cat lived to see Santa.
My stepfather gave me the MOAG. Bestowed upon my grateful mits is a brand new Millermatic 135 MIG welding rig. Holy crap! I just need to get a bottle of Argon/CO2 and a mask. I am at a complete loss for words, and must now resort to pictures.
