The made in Japan cards run a bit quicker than the ones made in Taiwan. For cellphone use, I don't think you'd even notice a difference. For uses like Nintendo DS rom loading, some games won't even work on Taiwanese cards.

Is there any way to tell where your card is made before buying? Most likely, no.

Just stick with Kingston.
