i am really surprised to see mileage below 26 mpg on a honda forum. thats appaling! anyways i drive a GSR and get between 28 and 31, freeway or not. but i run premium (required minimum is 91 octane for my car), and so its more expensive for me to fill up my tank than you guys my mum keeps track of her mileage in her diesel jetta and averages about 47 city and about 52 freeway. and my winter car, a 1985 diesel golf, runs about 45 mpg.

edit: dont know if you guys care, but FYI my dad and i drove from SF to cleveland in the jetta with the golf in tow (all four wheels on the ground) and got 36 mpg cruising at 70 mph the whole way. it performed surprisingly well climbing sierra nevadas, pulling nicely even up the steepest grades without any complaints.
