My suggestion is buy a manual and find out how to replace all the simple things under the hood. Basic tune up are very simple. Don't be affraid. Get your hand dirty. It's not rocket science. You'll be very happy and feel secure that your wife's car will run for another 60K miles w/ less trouble.
