There should be a signal connection there (the same style connection that is on the back of the radio for the antenna), or at least there was on mine. You may just want to trace it in both directions and find where that connection is, as the signal wire doesn't run the whole gambit from antenna to radio. Should be in at least 2 sections. It was on my civic anyway.
It is really hard for me to tell what is what under there. I've found the repair manual page where it shows a diagram of the cable--it looks like the radio end of the antenna cable connects to the antenna cable right near the steering column, but I can't find it in real life. Does anyone have any further details on this?
