All this is great information I like this site BTW guys. However, those turbo kits are good for something you can buy them dirt cheap and then use all accessories that come with it and sell the turbo/manifold/DP on craigslist or something becaues all the oil lines, t's, intercooler, couplers, piping all that is legit and you can use it and if you're REALLY on a budget against my better judgment I've seen a number of these ebay kits actually work out for quite sometime I know a guy with one still after 2ish years and still pulling hard and no shaft play on the turbo? I don't know he got lucky.
www.homemadeturbo.com is a good site to research these guys do things that nobody wants to to test it out and tell people about it. The company is no longer in business anymore and doesn't sell anything but it's still good for research purposes. Click on staff and the first guy go to projects and click on the GSR it'll talk about an ebay kit on that car that worked out great. But yes I do suggest scraping the turbo and manifold because it'll crack and the DP. You can even use like a stock turbo from a junkyard off of a early 90's Saab 900 if you wanted, I've seen that done.
