I think they say something like 7k or 10k for the new civic. So asked the parts manager when I was buying some of that 5w-20 oil and he said why??? Oil is rather cheap, why risk changing oil at that mileage. Besides I believe that 7k and 10k change intervals are under normal conditions. Under severe conditions it's much lower, which what most of us drive anyway. Since we generally drive hard, you can throw all that stuff out the window and should just change your oil every 3k.
