Try replacing the bulb first to see if the problem still persists.

Was the brake rotor cherry red(glowing)? The pads may be ruined since you overheated them and then they might crack and break apart through time. My advice is to look at the pads and see if there are any cracks on the friction material. Also see if you have any heat spots on the rotor.
