You need a wiring diaghram and a short finder(tool for finding shorts). And this short is hapenning between the brake switch wire all the way to the taillightwires that is not working once the brake is depressed. You could also trace the wires and look for ones that are abviously pierced by a screw or even stripped wires contacting the frame and shorting b+ to ground.
