To stop the auto-renew, you have to call into 800 4MY XBOX and cancel. At this point, you'll be taken to a VOIP line which patches into India.

You'll be speaking over a very hard to hear, static laced, line.

At that point, you'll terminate your account.

Your Xbox Live ID becomes dead and unrecoverable.



This is why I'm on e3NiNe2 ... I nuked my XBL account with was on the non-optional renew service. They can't bring it back. I had to start a new one.
