the one time i didn't tuck 'em in...... from post # 39 above (pics are disturbing).....
So I went out sat for a ride around town & rode down to a friends house to take her some cds. I was riding back @ a pretty good pace, but not too fast. I came up to a curve running about 55. I had already started to brake & when I went to turn left, my shoe laces had gotten all wrapped up around the heel guard & foot peg & the bike wouldn't turn. i left the road in a pretty dense wooded area.
I was transferred to the hospital here in Dickson & they took one look at me & said they had to transfer me to Vanderbilt trauma center in Nashville. They were going to life flight me by helicopter, but a bad storm pushed thru & the helicopter was grounded, so i had to go by ambulance. i was released from the hospital last night.
From the looks of my helmet, my chin bar hit probably a small tree & that is what broke my jaw (2 places) it is wired shut & will be for 3-4 weeks
2 metal plates w/ a total of 10 screws & permanent nerve damage leaving no feeling in the lower right side of my face FTL
mouth was wired shut for 6 weeks & i went from 165lbs to 115lbs
:nervous:
