The US gov't should just hand out markers to everyone who wants them to check the money, it has been, and always will be the only way to really know, unless one has a keen eye and is taking 20 minutes to ring everyone up.

So far the color changing inks and the chemical paper are the hardest things to reproduce correctly, not the purple numbers.
