well another problem for my step-sons car. we just bought the new relay to fix the no start problem and now a new one pops up.
the car is broke down at his dads house and i haven't seen it but he said the balancer key is broke off and the balancer is spinning on the crank. auto zone said he couldn't just buy a new key and had to buy the whole new balancer. after looking at a picture i noticed the hub is toothed. i assume then that the crank is also toothed. i don't understand the need for the teeth and the key?
anyway, he says there are no teeth on the crankshaft. if not then why is the balancer toothed? could the teeth on the crank have been sheered off? if so, could i just replace the key and be ok with it? i've been looking for a picture of a crank to try to get it figured out but haven't been able to find one.
any ideas or suggestions?
