Default GSR trans rebuild question

Experienced techs,

Recently finished dismantling my Hydro GSR trans and replacing some bearings and seals. Have driven appox 1k uneventful miles since...

When I reassembled the transmission, I neglected to install the 3rd/4th and 5th synchro hubs and 4th and 5th gears un-lubricated and with a press (as is instructed in the Helm's manual) - they were lubed, and easily slid into place, like every other mainshaft component (a press was not used/needed for disassembly, either). The re-assembly went smoothly, the trans case fit back together like a glove, and I haven't noticed any odd behavior since. Should I go to the trouble of dropping trans to disassemble / reassemble 3rd/4th and 5th with a press, unlubed, or just leave well enough alone?

Is the "dry/press" assembly of 3rd/4th, and 5th absolutely crucial, or just suggested? And if necessary, why?

Thanks in advance,

Luke
