Alright well I am coming from a 2005 Dodge SRT-4, pictures will be posted below. I miss the car but in order to set me self up to be able to get my EVO or E46 M3 I had to move it, it was consuming too much of my income, or should I say I volunteered putting too much time and money into it? I now drive a 1998 Honda Accord LX Auto with 114k. I bought it for $5,000 with 105k on it a few months ago. I initially laughed at people when they asked me what I was going to do with it, I found it hilarious to even consider putting ANY cosmetic or performance modification money into it... until now. I am bored and don't have the cash to buy a newer, more performance oriented car so I am working with what I have got. I was considering forced induction but know very little about the car because I had never even considered entertaining the idea of modifying it in the least bit... this was supposed to be my practical just drive it for now car. A car that I have to PUT up with really.
I heard the motor in this car is a 2.3L 150hp Vtec F23, I am told it is strong as is the transmission. The car weighs about 2900lbs which isn't bad especially considering it is a family sedan. I have considered doing mild cosmetics and semi-full suspension to make it more fun to drive and to beat on it while fine tuning my driving skills/technique. I also considered doing mild cosmetics, some springs and a turbo kit. I was told that this car can net a solid 225whp @ 6psi with stock internals and a tune... seems pretty high for a car that probobly puts down a mere 130whp? Around there? Well I have some questions...
-Is this car worth even investing the funds into? How much is a reliable, productive, fun set up going to set me back after all is said and done?
-Car and Driver praises this Accord for it's handling... haha... am I missing something or does this car have some good auto x potential?
-What supporting mods would be recommended if I picked up a turbo kit? Are the stock internals good enough or is the compression too high?
-What are the realistic tuned whp numbers for a reliable/safe kit and this car? Good for a low 14?
-How will this perform with the automatic transmission? A 5spd swap seems far too complicated and expensive for this car... I don't want to go too deep into this, just make a decent looking sleeper like not so damn boooorrrrringggg carrr
-What should I know, take into consideration and what am I missing?
Here is my previous car:
What should I do? I also have a buddy with a 2003 RSX Type S, plans on going the extent of Intake Race Header and exhaust... He makes fun of my Accord all the time, the funny part is I had a car that almost ran a high 12 second... he has, pff a weak sauce type s.
