If you leave the IACV plugged in, it will be trying to compensate while you're adjusting.

After adjusting it, plug the IACV back in & let it all cool down. Reset your ECU.
Then start it & let it warm up, all without touching the gas pedal AT ALL. This lets the ECU re-learn the behavior of the idle system.
