I think it depends on what tailor you go to. I've never really been to one, but there's a lady at my work who lost a bunch of weight and she took a lot of her "nicer" clothes to a corner tailor and she said it wasn't too expensive to get her stuff taken in.

I guess its pretty pricey to get things let out though, because they have to add the fabric and match it and shit.
