Unless you're going to extend your oil change intervals, I wouldn't bother changing.
If you're going to extend the oil change intervals, regardless of petro, synthetic, or semi-synth... do a couple oil analysis samples at various mileage.
Use whatever oil you want. Don't extend beyond factory interval first time. Next oil change you won't have the leftover residual of different brand mixed in. Then when you drain THAT oil, have a sample bottle from Blackstone or whatever analysis lab you choose. For about $20 they'll tell you whether your oil is all used up or only 1/2 used up. After a couple of these you'll know how that oil behaves with your habits. Then you won't be guessing & neither will we.
