The ROI (return on investment) is what gets me.

purchased for $20 @ a Target in early 06. 500% increase in value.

purchased for $20 @ a Target in mid 06. 400% increase in value.

purchased for $20 @ Walmart in early 05. 400% increase in value

purchased on eBay for $160 in late 05. MSRP was $80.

I just found this on eBay with a BIN of $45, $5 more than the $40, 2002 MSRP

@ Toys R Us now. MSRP $30

Starscream (2002) - MSRP $35
Thundercracker (2002) - MSRP $35
Skywarp (2002) - MSRP $35

Nobody purchased Thundercracker or Skywarp for $35. We all got them off of eBay in 05 for under $20 each ... I even got another set for $12 each.

Starscream has always been "expensive", but struggled to get over $50 for the longest. Now ... watch out.
