I deal with the homeless all day.

At work, My boss is so afraid of looking bad he has me and my co worker's kicking out the garbage picker's.

We have about 20 garbage can's for the officer's placed all around the lot, With 2 dumpsters up front, Now this is Down Town Oakland by china town.

The usual picker's are about 4 Elderly asian women, 2 HUGE fat girl's (black one and a white one), Afew black guy's in their mid 30's, and a elderly asian guy.

The way i was raised, Was to respect the elderly... I find it hard to yell at the elderly people to get out of the dumpsters... So i just go in a police car (I always have one infront of my office for this reason) just sit there for a second until they start reaching in... Press the air horn and go over the PA "Get out of there"... They listen more to the police car then they do to me when i walked up to them in person .

Only once has someone came up and asked for cash...

I was warned about one gentleman who has a very short fuse who frequent's the area, He has a history with the police. When he was beating up another homeless guy it took 5 Tazer's to take him down.

OH!, And there is another one who clean's up... I dont mind him. He come's out at night, Walks around emptying the trash cans as he go's through it.

And on one occasion he found a broom and sweeped around the exterior of the office.

I dont really give money to the homeless, I'd go broke myself if i did... But i did give this one homeless lady $20... She looked like a homeless annorexic version of my mom
