if you get on the team, see who your teammates are, then decide.

you can always work for a newspaper, but you'll never be able to play collegiate sports after you graduate.

if i were you, i'd choose the sport, so you won't regret it later on. and if you become a journalist/photographer, playing college level sports won't hurt your resume. might give you insight
