Default Sports or Career?

Since January I've been playing on a indoor soccer team in a pretty good league. I couldn't always make every game due to work on Sunday's, but as of recent, I've been playing every week and truly miss being on a competitive sports team.

Had have played high school soccer and lacrosse and being a stand-out in both, I got burned out of playing sports since the age of five and quit after my first semester of college. I then pursued my second passion of photography.

However, with the recent playing of soccer I've been thinking of trying out for my college team this fall as a walk-on. But, if I make the squad the problem is that I am a senior and the photo editor of the campus newspaper which takes up a large majority of my non-class room time. I don't think I could I ever manage all three, since sports teams are continually traveling, and I am paid staff of the newspaper.

So, I question myself whether or not to try out and give up something I am good at and want to pursue as a career. I've worked hard and continue to market myself as photojournalist, am well known throughout the campus through this, and won seven collegiate photojournalism this past March. It's truly the one thing I want to do as a career.

With the team, will they even take me as walk-on senior? Will I even play if I make it?

I just keep thinking that I'll never be in college again to play sports and miss not playing throughout my college career. Then again, I'll never have another place to continue to build my portfolio and continue to learn and market myself as a young up-coming photographer. Because after college I will no longer have a miniature world at my disposal, with very few real world restrictions or pressures.

It's a tough decision and I know only I can make the final decision, but I would like some outside input. Thanks.
