I'll try one LAST time to help you...

Plead not guilty and talk to the cop before you go into court. Tell him you had no idea they were illegal and not DOT approved, and that you've replaced the offending lights with the original ones, and show him. Maybe he will drop the ticket right there. But he's not gonna skip out of it. I know for a fact, the magistrates set the court dates based on when the officer is ON DUTY. And, if he usually works the late shift, he'll be paid O.T. So believe me, he'll be there.

Bottom line is you need to get over thinking that your are right and the cop is wrong.

DOT approved means it has been deemed safe enough for use on streets and highways. If its not approved, chances are it is unsafe.

Don't you see why he ticketed you? Just because you HAVE to have HIDs, you could cause an accident, or worse cause injury or death. Someone driving toward you, or even in front of you will be BLINDED by the light coming from your lights... All because you wanna "look cool" with blue headlights... Talk about selfish!!
