there's a few factors that contributed to me disliking carbon fiber hoods:

- the climate in south texas isn't very forgiving. I've seen many hoods become victims to the elements, something to consider if you park your car outside alot. (it all depends on where you live, really)

- I went through 3 different hoods, with varying degree's of fitment. even seeing hoods by vis and other reputable companies, and you can notice minor gap issues. not a big deal really, but to some such as myself, it's annoying. (90% of the reason why I went back to an OEM hood)

- I don't know about anyone else, but I feel I got more people trying to race me on my daily commute more. people either think you're boy-racer, or your hood isn't painted.

but it does weigh less :dunno:
