I'm not really sure what you mean... should I get a Phillips head and bang the screw through to break the screw harness thing (I don't know what it's called) and pull both pieces out? Or will I end up just having to pull the screw out?

Edit: Also, if you could tell me what these particular type of screws are called it'd help me buy a new set if I decide to follow your advice. Thanks in advance!
