adjuncts. yuck

I don't disagree with him. This country has latched onto VT not because they actually care, but rather because the media has created an atmosphere where everybody across the nation supposedly cares. This is a means of keeping eyes perpetually on the TV screen, reading the newspaper or reading sites online via most people's tendency towards conforming. The media has completely disregarded the privacy and subsequently the natural mourning process of the people who are actually affected in order to make money.

Americans just want to feel. They really don't value life per say. They value having something to talk about in order to fit in. The firing of this professor is a perfect example. People are supposed to tread lightly because it's bad PR to allow an employee to say what they really think if he or she doesn't align themself with the status quo that the media has crafted. It isn't about letting people mourn. It's about making people think it's about letting people mourn and the potential weakening of the media's power over people. Don't think that's not how they perceive it and the basis for their actions.

Now questioning has become feared. They have people's attention and they're not going to let it go until the next big story. Remember Don Imus?
