Well, FWIW I have worked inpatient psych, outpatient, combat stress control, critical incident stress debriefings, social work, drug, alcohol, psychological testing, quality control, etc.....

My advice would be if you are really depressed to take the pills for a trial period. 3-6 months. You will probably gain some insight about your situation during that time. Them drop those pills like a bad habit. Becuase they are.

You gotta try to carry the knowledge you will gain during the medicated period forward.

Ain't no shame in using the pills like a crutch for a while. But it's my opinion that they are only a crutch and you do not want to use it for too long.
