Toyota's large Land Cruiser and its sibling, the Lexus LX470, underwent a minor facelift for the 2006 model year. But major changes are coming soon - and these pictures show the next Land Cruiser/LX470 undergoing testing in Europe.
Despite the burly disguise, the next Land Cruiser/LX470 will become rounder, with more sculpted sheetmetal. Engines are expected to range again from a V-6 diesel in some markets to a big 4.7-liter V-8.
Inside, the cabin will get yet more luxurious, with even more chrome and wood.
The new Land Cruiser and LX replacements will be launched in 2007 for markets outside North America. The vehicles will reach the U.S. in 2008, likely as 2009 models.
The Car Connection
6-series updates are said to be new color options, updated front fascia (relocated fog lights and a chin spoiler to give the front end more "definition") and that's about it.
