Talked to the guy and he was very vague. I think he was scared of the motor swap or something. I figure I need a tuneup anyways so I might do the labor myself and get someone else to check the timing.

My engine has always used a bit of oil, but I attributed that to a worn out cam seal. Good compression numbers when I tested it out. I swear if my engine is screwed Im gonna have a meltdown. I already have enough school stuff to do deal with and no money either. Hopefully shes not out for the count.
