Actually, the opposite is true. After 7k rpm, the Type R ECU dumps way too much fuel in. That makes it run very rich and kind of sluggish. Most peope I've talked to with a V-AFC have to tune down the fuel amount at that point. It keeps the engine from running lean at that speed, which isn't good for the engine since it makes exhaust gas temp go up.
