socal is southern california
but southern california is not "socal"

socal refers to a specific locale and people. not in the literal sense of "southern california."

san diego may be in southern california, but it is nothing like the life in LA. completely different "culture", for lack of better term. even the "IE" aka inland empire, is borderline "socal".... theyre out in the boonies and the area, peoples, lifestyles, fashion, a lot of things, are different out there than in the general LA/OC counties.

for non-cali people to not understand the difference, is probably normal. its like how "norcal" is san jose, frisco, bay area, etc... but sacramento is off by itself. to the rest of the country, its still the same shit, but to be in california, the areas are as different to us and they might as well be separate states for all im concerned.

socal > *
