IMO, LS/VTEC's aren't reliable (or nearly as reliable) as a Honda engineered product.
In short, the LS vtec is nothing more than trying to use extra displacement with VTEC in order to produce more power.
What most people don't realize is that the VTEC engines are DESIGNED from the factory for extremely high rpms... This doesn't mean just stronger parts etc...
Yeah, you may be able to make more power than a B18C if you have a properly built LS/VTEC but it won't last.
Why do you think Honda spent tons of $$$ developing the B18C, designing it for high rpm use, when they could have just slapped the VTEC head onto the LS block?
