Undecided between SC/Turbo/Nitrous or screw my auto and get a GSR or ITR tranny/motor
Here me setup:
B18B1 Automatic 1995 with 85K miles
Airmass 4-2-1 header
AEM Cold Air Intake
2 1/4 in catback vibrant perf. exhaust
koni yellows + eibach sportlines
Well here's my question... I recently bought a book called Max Boost, read it from cover to cover and learned a lot about turbos. Everything sounds great, but the fact that I don't get any boost until 3700-4000 RPM pisses me off because Integras Automatic are slow to get the RPMS that high aside from when you're hitting WOT. On the other hand, belt Superchargers won't give me as much power as turbo but boost will always be on. I also want to include NOS in my setup and can it be installed before the turbo or supercharger and what type?
So my decision dilema comes down to the three options below and I want to know what some of you would decide and which parts that I currently have are reusable and aside from the obvious ones, which ones are lost:
1. **** the auto, get a GSR or Type R motor and tranny swap. I have contacts that can do GSR for 3000$ CAN (about 1800 US) and type R B18C5 for 4000$ CAN. Put a Nitrous oxide system. Can I put back cold-air and exhaust? Keep everything else ALL MOTOR.
2. Keep auto, get supercharger. What kind of nitrous system is compatible with supercharger? wet or dry and brand.
Get a torque converter upgrade (level 10, upgrade from 2600 RPM stall to 2850 stall) and tranny oil cooler.
3. Keep auto, get turbo with dry nitrous setup (75 shot)
Get a torque converter upgrade (level 10, upgrade from 2600 RPM stall to 2850 stall) and tranny oil cooler.
What would you do?
BTW I want to achieve about 220-240+ WHP Will I be needing bigger fuel injectors/pump and computer to get there? Anyone got Stock 1995 SE Dyno charts?
