There's 2 different brake warning lamps in the cluster. The 'brake lamp' one is NOT related to the brake fluid level or the handbrake. It's supposed to detect burned-out brakelight bulbs. But it's so sensitive that sometimes it goes off when there's corrosion in the bulb sockets. Or maybe one bulb is beginning to fail & it's using a different wattage?
