There is a 3-part Genshiken OVA series being released with the R2 Kujian box sets. There's always rumors of a second season, since the material is available from the manga, but there's no solid info right now.
Yar.. heard about the "spin-off" OVA (couldn't remember the name tho)
They need to continue... sooo good... and soooo much more opportunity there. Loved that series.
