actually for about the same you could swap a j-spec motor in your car, you can pick up a b20 setup..and yes a b20 is a crv motor but don't think you'd make it awd...tons of money modifying it. Buy a b20 on ebay for $400. Find a used b16 tranny (shorter gears = better 1/4 mile times) Build the b20 with all forged internals, get a gsr head, build it and you will also get vtec with it. Then if you sleeve the b20, and reinforce your head you can run higher boost. But beware, remember the break-in period and to upgrade your cv axles...you will snap them if running high horsepower...
I have a gsr swap in my civic and my wife has a CRV. The crv actually pulls about the same as my gsr. You put that b20 in my civic and it'd pull ridiculously hard. But then again, you have to consider what it is you want your car to do...(ex. good daily driver, weekend warrior, 1320 setup ect.)
