She should be able to live off base. Usually Oceanside is where a lot of Marines rent. As for any type of night life... She'll need to drive for about 25min to get to all of the "cool" places. Although, there are some pretty cool bars in Carlsbad, which is about 10min south of her.

Traffic from O'side/Pendleton can be a bitch on Fridays, after 2pm
