For example my reading skills have been at college level since 3rd grade, comprehension and spelling have also been at college level since that age. My math skills however tested around 7th grade and never went much higher than that.
It's not that I didn't try and didn't go to class but it is because my mind doesn't comprehend that type of logic problem the same way it grasps abstract thought. does it mean I am dumb because I never got past pre-algebra? no not at all it just means that the field I should go into probably shouldn't be math intensive.
The funny thing is though that when I get into jobs that are math intensive I pick it up quickly because it is an applied science rather than nonsensical repetition with no purpose. Many times you earn what you need to because it is a form of function and has a reasoning behind it as opposed to mindless repetition
