Or you could just use math. h:

* Figure out the vehicle speed in feet / second.
* Calculate rolling circumference of the wheel & tire.
* Then go backwards through the final drive and 5th gear ratio to get crank rpm.

Since we're talking about the DC2, 4.3K @ 80mph sounds about right.
