Thanks for the info, Jon02Accord... From looking at your photo it appears you changed out the wires going to the door as well? If so, how was it? Any tips you can offer on that?

The guy I ordered the amp from said the wiring of the Accord is only good for 40-50W RMS max. One of the guys at the local car stereo place said 80W continuous power is about the limit of the cars existing speaker wire. I wish there weren't so many mixed messages - I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble or not to swap out the wiring.

On a positive note I did finally get the subwoofer installed last night. It is an Infinity Perfect 12" sub in a sealed enclosure, currently powered with 256W. I'm still working on tweeking the settings (crossover, bass boost, amp gain, etc), but it sounds great!

The funny thing is I flipped the sub box around in the trunk last night to show my wife what the sub looked like. I forgot to flip it back around to be front-facing again. This morning when I got in the car and flipped on the stereo I discovered the bass output to the passenger cabin was about double what it was with the woofer in a front-facing position. Wierd, eh? I haven't listened enough to determine if the bass response is still flat across the range or if it boosted the bass just in a particular range.
