Ok so you say all these years...how long has it been? This means you were burnt when you were really young, being late teens/early early 20's. Relationships at that age don't mean shit, being hurt that bad by a girl at that age is just a part of life, not something to completely shut down from.
It's been several in the range you mentioned. Time and after time, you get sick of the whole "oh don't worry there's someone that'll treat you right out there" speech. I think everyone should take a good amount of time after they get out of relationship to find themselves. I learned alot from the perspective of not being dependent on someone and realizing what I really want in my life.
