Your logic is still flawed because if I do not use, apply for, or take advantage of the collateral I posess then it is nothing more than a posession and has nothing at all to do with credit, credit score, credit useage or anything else with credit. If on the other hand I use it as collateral for a line of credit then the house is now part of my credit.
